Moving Out

• Donate items to local charity shops you can find on our list, which includes what donations they're currently accepting.
• Donate clothes via the on-campus British Heart Foundation clothing bins.
• Donate unopened cupboard food items via the Trussell Trust food donation point in Rootes Grocery Store.
• Donate furniture to the British Heart Foundation.
• Arrange for furniture to be collected via a Coventry City Council bulky waste collection (in partnership with Emmaus).
• Donate furniture to one of the furniture community reuse schemes in Warwickshire.
• If you live on campus, leave unwanted non-perishable food and kitchen items in your kitchen. 
  • Non-perishable food will be collected and donated to Coventry Food Bank.
  • Kitchen items such as pots, pans, glass and small electrical items will be collected and donated to British Heart Foundation and Emmaus. (Please ensure they are left clean.)

• Sell, give away, or swap clothes via Fashion Exchange at Warwick on Facebook.
• Sell, give away, or swap other items via Warwick Uni Buy-Sell-Gift-Exchange on Facebook.
• List your items for free on groups such as Freecycle Leamington, and Freecycle Coventry.
• Offer items to your hallmates, housemates, and friends.

• Sell, give away, or swap clothes via Fashion Exchange at Warwick on Facebook.
• Sell, give away, or swap other items via Warwick Uni Buy-Sell-Gift-Exchange on Facebook.

• Sell, give away, or swap clothes via Fashion Exchange at Warwick on Facebook.
• Sell, give away, or swap other items via Paperclip or Warwick Uni Buy-Sell-Gift-Exchange on Facebook.
• List your items for sale on other sites such as Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace, eBay, or DePop.

• Double-check what can go in your blue-lidded recycling bins in Coventry or red recycling boxes and bags in Leamington, and make best use of your remaining collection dates.
• Take recyclable items to the Coventry Reuse and Recycling Centre or the Princes Drive Recycling Centre in Leamington.
• Compost any food waste by placing it in your brown-lidded bin in Coventry, or green wheeled bin in Leamington Spa.

• Contact a storage company to arrange storage for some of your belongings over the vacation period.

• Plan in advance how much you can take with you when you travel home, and be realistic to avoid having to ditch things on move out day.
• Tip: Ask local supermarkets and shops whether they have any cardboard boxes you can have to pack your possessions in.

Please ensure that any waste sent to landfill could not be reused or recycled via one of the routes above!

• Double-check what can go in your green bins in Coventry or grey bins in Leamington Spa, and make best use of your remaining collection dates.
• Take any surplus waste to Coventry Reuse and Recycling Centre (the tip) or the Princes Drive Recycling Centre (the tip) in Leamington.
• If you're in on-campus accommodation, please use the skips provided by Warwick Accommodation.
• Make use of the extra general waste collection on Saturday 1st July if you live on one of the following streets in Leamington:
