WILKOMMEN TO THE GERMAN SOCIETY!

We're proud to be the foremost society on campus for students interested in the German language and culture. We aim to combine aspects of both academic and recreational societies by providing the best support for our members' German studies whilst also creating a welcoming and close group of friends.

Our most popular events each year include our tour to Germany, our visits to local markets, our evening socials (including pub quizzes, bowling and circles), and our biweekly German Speaking Socials where we meet for a coffee or board game whilst practicing our language skills.

We also work closely with both the German department and other language societies on campus to organise sports tournaments, collaborate on our Languages Ball held every Spring, and hold joint circles.

Of course, all our members have different levels of German proficiency so we welcome everyone with an interest, even if you're learning from scratch this year! You can also look out for upcoming announcements about our mentoring schemes.
